We saw this in WEHO News, Vol. 7 Issue 84, 09/02/2012, “Proposing the Enlightened States of America” and thought it would make a great story for start up businesses.

So with a bit of tweaking, we directed this to our dear entrepreneurs:

Here are several critical factors to take into consideration when thinking of starting up a small business in a Red State as opposed to a Blue State:

In case you aren’t aware the Red States do not include California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, New York and the rest of the Northeast.

Another way of stating that is the Red States cover: Texas, Oklahoma and all of the slave states.

If you’re into stem cell research better not start up in a Red State they strongly oppose stem cell research.

In the Blue States you have contact with 85 percent of America’s venture capital and entrepreneurs like yourself.

If you’re into family therapy, the Blue States are not a good place to be because their aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than the Christian Coalition’s, and they have a bunch of happy families unlike the prevalence of single moms in the Red States.

If your business deals with fresh water, fresh produce, quality wines or cheese you need to be in the Blue States because they have firm control of 80% of the country’s fresh water, more than 90% of the pineapple and lettuce, 92% of the nation’s fresh fruit, 95% of America’s quality wines, and 90% of all cheese,

Also if your business is high tech, low sulphur coal, forestry or higher education you want to be in the Blue States because they have 90 percent of the high tech industry, most of the US low sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and condors, all the Ivy and Seven Sister schools plus Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Cal Tech and MIT.

If you’re dealing with Obesity or mosquito borne disease, then you must be in a Red State since they have to cope with 88% of all obese
Americans and their projected health care costs and 92% of all US mosquitoes.

If you’re studying storms you need to be in a Red State since they have nearly 100% of the tornadoes and 90% of the hurricanes.

Also if you want to be a televangelist or a Southern Baptist consultant or a nutcase radio host, then you must start up in the Red States since they have 99% of all Southern Baptists, virtually 100% of all televangelists and Rush Limbaugh.
