Nick Becker - ERP and Project Management Specialist

Nick Becker is the founder and President of Becker Strategic Solutions Inc., a company dedicated to reducing customer’s costs through efficient project management, organization dynamics, process improvement and technology usage.  Nick has over fifteen years of experience managing and participating in consulting engagements worldwide.

Nick was formerly Vice President of Services at Nexgen Software a Y2K and ERP Consultancy.  Most recently, Mr. Becker was General Manager, Services for Rogue Wave Software.

Nick's business expertise covers business and technology planning for customers in the software, consulting, electronics, food processing, finance, telecom, coatings, and educational arenas. Nick’s educational experience includes course development and teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional seminar levels.  

Larry Caretsky – CRM Specialist

Larry Caretsky is a CEO with one of the leading providers of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and E-business solutions to the middle market.  Larry has more than twenty years of experience with top 100 software companies in the high technology area. 

 

He began his career in sales with Shared Medical Systems a division of Seimens Medical and a provider of automated financial systems for Public Hospitals.  He has held executive level positions in sales, marketing and operations with McKesson HBOC, Cognos Corporation and Synon Corporation. 

 

In 1996, the Edison Venture Fund engaged him to transition one of their portfolio companies from a manufacturer of applications development tools to a provider of business solutions for small to mid-size companies. His efforts has made Commence one of the top rated companies in this space.  Larry has remained on board with Commence as CEO. He has published several papers and is considered an authority in the CRM space.

 

Jack Iacobucci – Turnaround CEO and Financial Strategy Executive

 

Jack Iacobucci is a CEO with a successful twenty year track record of leading business restarts and financial turnarounds of under performing computer software and service companies and telecommunications and computer hardware manufacturers.

 

His management career started in Finance at ITT, leading to an appointment as Corporate Controller of Northern Telecom, Inc.  Later he led the Northern Telecom distressed Data Systems Division (formerly Data 100 and Sycor) back to profitability.

He was also Vice President of Harris Corporation’s Communication Sector, where he successfully led the turnaround of their Digital Telephone Systems Division.

 

He also held the CEO position at Roguewave Software following the successful restart of Aristacom International, a computer software and service company.  He was Chairman and CEO of Line4, Inc. a leading provider of software that integrates people, computers and telephone and Internet resources. He is currently President and CEO of Comturn Group a turnaround consultancy in Atlanta, Georgia.

 

Eric Loos – Mergers and Acquisitions Executive  

Eric Loos is CEO and founder of E-Manda Corporation, a company dedicated to enhancing the merger and acquisition process.  Eric has been in the technology business for over 25 years. His merger and acquistion experience is extensive having spent 5 years as co-founder and vice president at Fusion Products International, Inc. which was acquired by Pansophic Systems (ex-NYSE: PNS) and four years later Pansophic was acquired by Computer Associates (NYSE: CA).

Eric also spent 4 years heading up the Latin America Operations at Synon Corporation which was acquired by Sterling Software (ex-NYSE: SSW) shortly before it was acquired by Computer Associates (NYSE: CA).  He was vice president at Convoy Corporation which was acquired by New Era of Networks and then by Sybase (NYSE: SY).   Eric's experience with the merger process has been from a variety of positions – Board member, CFO, Vice President and International, Director of Marketing.

 

Cynthia Martino - Food and Beverage, Restaurant Design and Management

 

Cynthia Martino plans and designs high-end bars and restaurants.  Cynthia has over twenty years of experience in the food and beverage industry and has traveled to Italy, Spain and Central America to study and consult in the industry.  Cynthia also managed several restaurants and wine bars in Northern California.

 

Cynthia is a nutritional therapist and a specialist in organic foods. She has also been a food critic for several years.

Hellena Smejda develops and executes marketing communications that work. Before founding WordsWorth International in 1987, she was a business and technology editor, and brings that insider's knowledge to the public relations process.

WordsWorth has promoted the products and services of many software, hardware and services firms. Depending on the client's needs and budget, Hellena creates a strategic mix of advertising, public relations, events, and other promotional media.

Two high-profile engagements were the launch of  Xerox Printing Systems' entry into the IBM midrange market, and the IBM Application Development group's promotion to end users and business partners.

James M. Smith – Marketing, Sales and Turnaround Executive

Jim Smith has over thirty years of sales and marketing executive experience in small and medium sized high and low techology companies. He specializes in turning financially troubled companies around and taking existing companies to the next level of growth.

 

Jim was President and COO of Line4 Inc. where he successfully resized and changed the business model and was on the Board of Directors. Prior to that, Jim was Executive Vice President of Rogue Wave Software the world’s leading C++ components maker and distributor where he helped change the business model to set them up for acquisition. 

 

Jim also served as Vice President at Nexgen Software Technologies, Electran Corporation and Synon Corporation.  In 1993 he founded and is still managing partner of YCHANGE International LLC., a turnaround consultancy specializing in small and medium sized companies.  Jim spends much of his time volunteering advice and counsel to minority and women owned businesses in the Portland, Oregon, metropolitan area.

Alan J. Zell – Ambassador Of Selling

Alan has become nationally recognized for his non-traditional approach to selling through his speaking engagements, workshops, seminars, articles, and consulting for businesses and organizations. Alan's programs and services are unique because of his belief that communications are effective only when seen from the first-time listener's, viewer's, reader's point of view.
