Customer Review: This is the worst book ever that I read on any subject. Why did this book sold over million copies was the biggest question I had after attempting to read this book. I did not find single page in the book that really useful to me.
I am sure this book sold 1 million copies only because of its title and not the content.
Reasons:
1. Authors language and narration is the worst ever.
2. It is written for those who don't understand business (example one who bakes pie is not necessarily educated or has business degree)
3. The book is very misleading for entrepreneurs and the most de-motivating book ever.
4. This book is written from negative standpoint, people generally need encouragement which is hard to find in this book unless you really want to believe this author and fail in your business.
5. I am okay with franchisee business model, however the the way author presented this case makes be do the opposite i.e to never ever own a franchisee.
Let me say this: Don't ever buy this book, I got this one free from person trying to sell me franchise business and now I hate them for giving me this stupid book.
Why would you trust this review: I have studied Masters in Business Administration and I understand right and wrong approach to small and large business. There are thousands of good books on business and this is the worst ever.

I began with the midpoint at Chap 45 and it's quick, instructional reading, bullet-pointed to be memorable and it's really, really useful. This book gets the motors revving and the brain whirling and warms you up to greater, and greater achievement, all while having fun!
Purified Kawasaki. That's my favorite term for this book. And you can read a few of the 475-plus pages over many days, months, or even years. It's all good, timely stuff.
This book kicks butt while building confidence so newbies to old sages can find something in Reality Check.
And you can take that kind of check to the bank!

Customer Review: Although most of the information in this book has been around for a long time, it will probably be helpful if this is your fist marketing book -- & you have a fairly large budget for your marketing campaign.
I was hoping for more internet marketing advice, but found only a small section dedicated to this venue. This was surprising considering the internet is fast becoming THE marketing tool of today and the future.
Plenty of help in this book on all other forms of media advertising, but all require sizable budgets.
As for book quality... The text is a bit small and crowded, and is printed on newsprint quality paper. The addition of some subheadings here and there just to break up the pages a bit would ease a rather monotonous flow.

Customer Review: This book goes over several scenarios where you might want to work from home. It is written for women, however, the advice is applicable to men in many instances as well.
The authors cover how to transition your office job to a home office, looking for jobs that are designed to be done from home, starting a business of your own and direct sales from home.
They get you to take a honest look at yourself to determine if working at home is a good fit for you. This is so important, because as wonderful as working from home might sound, there really are some big considerations that you need to keep in mind to be successful.
The section that gives an overview on what you need to do to start up a new business venture (i.e., insurance, EIN, zoning, accounting, taxes, etc.) would be helpful to anyone who is new to the entrepreneur route.
I'd say this book is a great place to start from.

Customer Review: I attended my first Dan Kennedy event this past weekend in St. Louis and was very impressed with the content of the information and his business philosophy. I picked up the book, No B.S. Marketing to the Affluent: The No Holds Barred, Kick Butt, Take No Prisoners Guide to Getting Really Rich for two reasons. One, I wanted to learn more about marketing and selling to the Affluent. Even in tough times the affluent have money and if one wants to thrive in the recession that has already started in the United States you need to position yourself with the affluent. The book provids a wealth of information in this area.
A second reason I wanted to read the book was to learn more about Dan Kennedy's business methods. I was intrigued with what I learned at the seminar. In fact, I am repositioning and redoing my websites and my business model based on the information gleaned from him during that event. I wanted to learn more because I do see his "philosophy" as profit generating.
The book did not disappoint. I finished the book on my flight back home and found myself taking notes in almost every chapter. I found the book well researched and informative. I like Kennedy's style of writing and brash emphasis on presenting reality instead of some politically correct drivel that makes you feel good without adding to your bottom line.
If you are in business or thinking about getting into business you need to read this book. I plan on reading the rest of the No B.S. guides Dan Kennedy has written and then to move on to the audio programs, taking care to implement what I have learned. There is money in these books. One only has to look for it.

Customer Review: This is an interesting story of a hedge fund manager who becomes obsessed with a short position in a company that seems, at a minimum, a little shady. None of the characters in the book are likeable and at the end of the book it's not clear if Einhorn is making a mountain out of a molehill or not. But it is a fascinating detailed look at an ugly mix of management greed, an investor's ego and government waste and intimidation.

I liked this book. It's more of a rant on the subject of starting a business instead of a how-to or checklist or guide. It kind of reminded me of "The Art of the Start" (ISBN: 9781591840565). But I thought Kawasaki's book was better. The instant book being reviewed has 17 chapters as follows:

I found the book to be well written and well outlined. I'd probably give it 5-stars if I hadn't felt I'd read it before in other books. The same old material on how to start a new company can only be re-written in just so many different ways. And then there is the fact that there is no chapter devoted to business plans. That's not good if an author wants 5 stars from me.
If the subject of this book interests you, then I recommend you consider reading two others along with it: "Startup Nation" (ISBN: 9780385512480), and "Growing Your Business" (ISBN: 9780671671648). I found the instant book being reviewed had wonderful insights that seemed to be based on a ton of real-world experience. And the suggestions and recommendations included were great. So I cannot poo-poo the book. But it just didn't measure up to the three other books I cite in this review. 4 stars!
